Ambleside Two is the second of two similar complexes built by the Minto Corporation in the mid 1970s. Both Ambleside One and Ambleside Two have a central highrise apartment building and a terrace of townhouses. A third complex, Ambleside Three, on the opposite side of Ambleside Drive has all of its units in one highrise building with a few commercial units at ground level.

Completed 11th April 1975, the Ambleside Two residential condominium has a tower of 309 apartment units on 26 residential floors above three basements. A terrace of 20 townhouses flanks the north and east sides of the grounds and connects with three extensive underground parking garages.

The condominium is located in the west end of Ottawa where Richmond Road crosses over the Ottawa River Parkway. The area features an extensive network of riverside walkways and bicycle paths. Downtown Ottawa is a ten minute drive (or a 40 minute bike ride) away along a broad scenic route along the Ontario side of the Ottawa River.

Common elements include two saunas and an indoor pool that opens onto an outdoor patio. Nearby is a tree-shaded area equipped with picnic tables and barbecue. Other recreational facilities include a squash court, billiard room , exercise room , workshop, boat storage room, and children's playroom.

Indoor social events are held in the lounge area, or in the salon with its kitchen and generous seating capacity. A hardwood-floored gallery overlooking the pool can be used for dancing.

Three well-equipped guest suites are located on the same level as a convenience store and air-conditioned laundry facilities.

The heated underground parking levels are provided with two car-wash bays, and are connected to the high-rise tower building through automatic doors.

An electronic security system controls all entrances and exits to the tower building. Digitally-monitored video surveillance cameras at strategic points further enhance the security of the common elements.
